Here I was researching current well known brands and their logos to get a feel for what our target audience likes in a logo and what works to make an iconic logo. I noticed that a lot of them a use bold black font, probably so that when the logo is resized and printed it is always clear that that is that brand. I also noticed that a few of the brands, like enjoi, fatface, fox,etc, use a simple image as part of the logo and have that on its own sometimes instead of the logo image and type.
